Stop going in circles. Learn how to understand each other again, and build the marriage you actually want.

You haven't stopped caring. You've stopped connecting.

Wanting things to be better is not the same as wanting out. Most couples who come here still care a great deal. They're just worn down by the same argument arriving in a different outfit, and by the silence that follows it.

Arguments are rarely about what they appear to be about. Underneath the dishes, the calendar and the tone of voice there is usually something simpler: feeling unseen, unappreciated, or alone in what you're carrying.

Nobody gets put on trial here, and I'm not on either side. I'm on the side of the relationship, which means you'll both be heard, and neither of you has to be the problem.

What couples counselling can help with

Whether you're in crisis or simply drifting, it's a valid reason to seek support.

The same fight on repeat

Different costumes, same argument. Neither of you can name what it's really about.

Emotional distance

Living like housemates, not partners, and not remembering when that started.

Communication breakdown

Conversations that turn into conflict, or silence because it feels safer than talking.

Trust that needs rebuilding

After betrayal or broken promises: rebuilding safety, honesty and warmth, step by step.

Big transitions

New baby, blended family, career pressure, health challenges: seasons that strain even strong marriages.

Strengthening a good marriage

You don't need to be in trouble to invest. Some couples come to grow, not to repair.

Meet Megan

Hi, I'm Megan Bodnar

I don't referee arguments, and I don't take sides. My job is to be on the side of the relationship. Nobody gets ganged up on in my room.

I've been married fifteen years myself, so I know this work from both sides of the room. A good marriage isn't the absence of hard seasons. It's what you learn to do with them.

Over the past eight years I've walked alongside many couples, through repeated conflict, broken trust, emotional distance and big transitions. I'm a Registered Counsellor with the Australian Counselling Association and a certified PREPARE/ENRICH facilitator.

Many couples notice a shift quite quickly once both people are willing to show up and do things differently. Emotional distance doesn't always mean the love is gone. More often, connection just hasn't been nurtured for a while. That can change.

How couples counselling works

  1. 1

    Free discovery call

A brief conversation (one or both of you) about what's happening and how I work. No pressure, no obligation.

  2. 2

    First joint session

Both partners share their perspective in a calm, structured space. Nobody gets ganged up on. My job is to be on the side of the relationship.

  3. 3

    Ongoing sessions

We slow the conflict down, uncover the real triggers underneath it, and practise new ways of responding. You'll leave with tools to use at home, not just things to think about.
